Feathers and Folk, Nature Festival Hike
FEATHERS AND FOLK, NATURE FESTIVAL HIKE
NOELS POND TO STEPHENVILLE CROSSING
SUNDAY, MAY 31ST
Join us for an approximate 7km back country hike along the International Appalachian Trail (IAT) from Noels Pond to Seal Cove Road, Stephenville Crossing. We will be meeting at the Noels Pond, IAT parking lot and trailhead and starting the hike at 9am, Sunday, May 31st.
Monique Vassallo, biologist and avid bird watcher, will be our interpretative naturalist on the hike. Monique will be pointing-out and identifying native birds along the trail as well as flowers and other plants.
The hike is moderately difficult and the trail meanders along brooks, ponds, marsh and through some moderately hilly terrain. It should take approximately three and one half to four and one half hours to complete the hike. There will be vehicles left at Seal Cove Road to transport drivers back to their vehicles in the Noels Pond parking lot.
Be prepared for wet conditions. Waterproof footwear and clothing is recommended. Bring water, a snack and binoculars - particularly if you are interested in birds.
